The rapper Ludacris has always worked to be a very good father. He also figured out that sometimes, good fatherhood requires fighting for your day in court. That’s what he was able to do and he did so successfully.
According to People.com, the well-known hip-hop artist now has full custody of his daugther Cai after a court battle with the child’s mother, Tamika Fuller. Their daughter is now 13 months old, and Ludacris (aka Chris Bridges), will have his daughter in his home.
Ludacris had no shortage of words after hearing the good news. The rapper released this statement:
“After review of all the evidence, the testimony of the witnesses, the report of the guardian ad litem, and the claims made throughout this entire case, I am gratified that the judge found me to be the most fit and proper parent to have primary physical custody of our beautiful daughter,” Bridges, 37, said in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE.
Basically, Ludacris and his child’s mother were fighting over money, which led to Bridges pushing for full custody. The rapper has had some financial problems in recent years, and Tamika was pushing to get more in child support. It got ugly, with Fuller accusing Bridges of being against the pregnancy. She also said that Bridges’ very swift engagement and marriage to Eudoxie Mbouguiyengue was driven by his desire to get full custody of his daughter.
If that was his strategy, it looks like it worked. Luda got engaged and married in one day, and then just a couple of weeks later, the ruling was announced that he would have custody.
