Big Discounts And Deals On Amazon Prime Day

By Ryan Velez

Get ready to save, as Amazon is starting off its third year offering Prime Day, a day of massive discounts exclusively for its Prime Members, covering nearly every category and item you could think of. Black Enterprise has the scoop on what to look for as well as some other hidden details of this bargain hunter’s dream.

Prime Day started this Monday, July 10th at 9 P.M EST, and will be running for 30 hours until 3 a.m. ET on July 12th. Amazon Prime’s 80    million customers will have access to a variety of deals for this time, until the hot items get snatched up, anyway.

“Our teams have been working for months to source exciting and interesting deals. Our fulfillment centers are loaded with products, our operations associates are ready and our transportation partners around the world are excitedly waiting for the first Prime Day order,” said Vice President of Amazon Prime Greg Greeley,  in a press release. “This Prime Day, our Prime members will find hundreds of thousands of deals on everything they’re into–from beauty fans, to bookworms and gamers, to gardeners.”

The exact nature of the Day is that deals will roll out every five minutes to Prime Members. Some of the deals include a 50% discount on an Amazon Echo for $89.99, 30% off of select Adidas apparel, and a 50% discount on select Callaway Golf products. In addition, the company will offer a variety of TV deals, including 25% off of select TCL smart TVs, starting at $119.99 for a 28-inch, and a 40-inch 1080p TCL TV for only $199.99. Prime members are used to their suite of perks, which include free two-day shipping and unlimited streaming of music and video for a $99 yearly fee.

Notably, Prime Day is a success for Amazon, with CNN reporting that last year was the biggest sales day in the site’s history, with orders increasing by over 60%. 74% of the entire year’s U.S. e-commerce took place on Prime Day. Prime Day was originally created to show appreciation for the members, who generally spend five times more than regular Amazon members. If you want to get in on the action, you can join Prime or start a free trial.
