The time of the year when the list of the richest people in the United States is released is right here. Even when there is nothing much to do with the information, it’s always nice knowing who’re the most endowed, financially. Granted, there are those who make good use of the information, digging deeper into the lifestyles and characteristics of the richest, as well as how they made their money.

This year, nothing much has changed compared to last year, especially when it comes to the list of the Top 10 Richest in the U.S. Of course, the order and individual net worth of these people have changed.

According to the latest figures, Bill Gates remains the richest, having held that position for an amazing 24 years in a row. Gates isn’t just the richest in America; he’s actually the world’s richest. Analysts say, and the second richest, Warren Buffett, agrees that Gates could rise to become the world’s first ever trillionaire over the next quarter of a century.

Of the top 10 richest Americans, six made their money in the technology industry. On this year’s list, only Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg is under 40 years old. Only one our of the top 10 is an immigrant, and that’s none other than Google co-founder Sergey Brin.

Below is the list of this year’s America’s richest;

#10. Michael Bloomberg – He has a net worth of $36.5 billion, with the main source of his income being Bloomberg L.P.

#9. Sergey Brin – He’s worth $37 billion, having gotten his wealth from Google. Brin, alongside Larry Page, founded Google, the world’s most profitable tech company.

#8. Larry Page – Together with Sergey Brin, he co-founded Google. His current net worth is $38 billion, with the tech giant being his main source of income.

#7. (tie) David Koch – He’s worth $40 billion and his main source of income is Koch Industries, a multinational company that boasts of several subsidiaries involved in trading, investments and manufacturing.

#7. (tie) Larry Ellison – Co-founder and former CEO of Oracle, a computer technology company based in Redwood Shores, California. He has a net worth of $40 billion, having earned his fortune from Oracle.

#4. Mark Zuckerberg – He emerged as the youngest in the top 10 list, with a net worth of $50 billion. The 32-year-old is a co-founder of the world’s largest social-networking website, Facebook.

#3. Jeff Bezos – He’s the third richest person in the world. Bezos has a net worth of $70 billion. He earned his fortune from Amazon, a company he founded and leads both as chairman and CEO.

#2. Warren Buffett – He’s recognized as one of the world’s most successful investors. He has a net worth of $78 billion, with his main source being Berkshire Hathaway, a conglomerate holding company in which he has a 37.4% stake.

#1. Bill Gates – The world’s richest this year is still Gates and it doesn’t appear like anyone is about to beat him at that. He boasts of a net worth of $90 billion. His main source of income is Microsoft Corporation, in which he owns a 4% stake.
