Last week, it was announced by the Georgia Studio and Infrastructure Alliance that five television and film companies in the state of Georgia had come together to strengthen Atlanta’s already vibrant entertainment industry. The new association includes Tyler Perry Studios, Eagle Rock Studios Atlanta, EUE/Screen Gems Studios Atlanta, Mailing Avenue Stageworks, and Triple Horse Studios.
This very smart power play by the movers and shakers of the television and film industry in Atlanta is fully intended to brand Atlanta, GA as the Hollywood of the south.
President of Tyler Perry Studios Ozzie Areu said, “Tyler Perry Studios is pleased to become a part of the Georgia Studio and Infrastructure Alliance. We believe that it is important for those investing in making this a long-term business in the state of Georgia speak with one voice. TPS is fully committed to working with state and city officials along with the other members of the Alliance to make the TV and film production business a permanent fixture in Georgia’s vibrant economic success story.”
These five companies have created an agreement to work together to speak as one voice to address the needs of the television and film industry in Atlanta. The alliance will not only focus on advocacy for the booming entertainment industry in the state, but the newly formed organization will also focus on providing education and training of crew members, as well as the development and acquisition of on-screen talent.
The alliance’s main goal is to keep clients returning to Atlanta to shoot television and film projects. The companies involved fully understand that a commitment to working together to strengthen the television and film industry in Atlanta benefits each of them, in addition to strengthening Atlanta’s local economy by bringing jobs to studio professionals, on-screen talent, and the travel industry.
