What Do Rich People Teach Their Kids that Others Do Not? Let’s Ask Oprah Winfrey

by Dr. Boyce Watkins

What do rich people teach their kids that the rest of the country does not?  This conversation between Robert Kiyosaki and Oprah Winfrey is a great discussion between two incredibly wealthy people who seem to want people to know their secrets.  Of course, not everyone can be as wealthy as these two, since America is not designed that way.  The unfortunate reality of our society is that an addiction to excessive capitalism has created a permanent and growing underclass.   This isn’t going to get any better, since our politicians have been bought out by the wealthy.  This means a weaker tax base to sustain our government, fewer laws to protect workers, sending jobs overseas, and even a growing prison industrial complex to provide free labor.

So, let’s be clear:  The Titanic is sinking, there is no question about that.

But America will continue to exist, even after our politicians have destroyed the country.  So, when the ship sinks, do you want to have a lifeboat, or do you plan on drowning?  I argue that black people have to be committed to ensuring that the people we love don’t drown.  That means teaching one another the principles of economic security and using conscientious capitalism as a way to provide economic options for our community.

Watch the video, these two know what they are talking about.
