Women in Detroit are getting loans to get hair weaves (Video)

As if corporations aren’t already finding a thousand ways to get into your pocket, a recent story really got my attention.  There’s apparently a company in Detroit that has realized just how desperate some black women are to get money they need for hair weaves.  So, to fulfill this “need” in the marketplace, they’ve come up with a company called “The Weave Loan Store,” which gives loans to women in “unbe-weavable” need.

Here’s the rest, according to NaturallyMoi.com:

If interested in getting a weave, be prepared to spend a good amount of money because the process can be quite expensive. With this being such an pricey process, people are finding it harder to afford a weave. One group of people in Detroit, Michigan has noticed this and are looking for ways to help. The Weave Loan Store, located at 21621 West 8 Mile in Detroit,” according to HotHipHopDetroit, has found a way to do just that.

The store offers loans to people who are preparing to purchase bundles of hair. On their website, they have listed their process for approval. Quite shockingly, it seems like anyone can get a loan from these guys. All you need is a valid ID, a recent check stub and an initial payment.

In this video below, I talk about good debt vs. bad debt, and why you may not want to take out a loan in order to get a hair weave.
